I suppose if we hear about "a big chicken" near that place called "Crest" we should all get fairly nervous!

The San Diego Chicken hasn't been seen in years. BTW, it was never an official mascot.

Actually, he was. But not for the Padres.
He was originally the KGB Chicken (the radio station, not the commie spy agency). Now he's just known as The Famous Chicken, or usually, The Chicken.
I was reading something about him a few weeks back. If memory serves, Ted Giannoulas is preparing to retire and hand over the costume & character to someone else. After 42 years, maybe it's time. (Although, if memory serves, he'll still own the rights to the character)
Toronto Blue Jays.
Thanks. I knew I didn't think of all of them, and I didn't want to have egg on my face.

He's a UPMC doctor, and I have Highmark BCBS insurance. I'm not allowed to see him.

What, is a pussy willow too hard to climb? My Tommy never climbed a tree, his favorite spot was hiding under the forsythia with pretty yellow flowers in spring.
And now, it is time for the 2016 telling of the Jack Bogut Memorial Joke:
Q: Why will the Pirates be able to sell beer at PNC Park this season?
A: This year, the Pirates did NOT lose the opener!
The Padres first loss game of the season isn't until tomorrow.
The Padres first loss game of the season isn't until tomorrow.
That means that they don't have a losing record. Yet.
Did you hear about what the manager of the Royals said? He was whining that their World Series Victory celebration, before the start of the game, was marred because the Mets (the team they beat in the Series) were there.
I've heard of poor losers before, but poor winners? Really?

Spring has definitely sprung. I now have a painful left hand caused by exposure to cold. This after attending a four day cricket match where the tea interval on the third day was brought forward due to a hailstorm delay. This gave an 3½ hour final session. With earlier delays caused by 19 wickets falling, the ball being hit out of the ground a few times and a player having to go the equipment room to fetch a piece of protective equipment, resulting in eight hours play. If there was possibility of the game being finished a day earlier, there also could have been ½ hour overtime on top.
The new headgear for players and spectators is woolly hats.
I thought thought the Infield Fly Rule in baseball was confusing but it's simplicity itself compared to cricket. A British friend once tried to explain it to me without sucess.

The way some players keep striking out they might do better with a softball and a cricket bat. SPRING? Where is it hiding weather wise? About all I see is cold, damp and rain, I keep waiting the obligatory 10 minutes according to New Jersey tradition but it hasn't come.

You would all enjoy a four day cricket game, on the 1st day a group of spectators started a conversation about their diabetes. Just like 80 metres.
Someone who is a right pain in the behind was absent. I was advised that he was doing something that the 1960's comedian Tony Hancock did in his show. I responded that I hope he is not taking the foundation exam, there are enough idiots on 20 and two metres already. Actually it was being a blood donor, another Tony Hancock episode.

I have lots of Tony Hancock material, so at least I know what you're talking about if nobody else does.

Spring has sprung. It was 95 F (35 C) this afternoon. Spring is the hottest season here. Unfortunately, our city's professional baseball team, the "Charros de Jalisco", play in the Winter, in the Mexican Pacific League. So, no béisbol for now. :(
