for any users of Arch Linux....

has anyone else had problems with Xserver not starting after kernel
upgrade to 4.3.3 ??? there is a bug in the nvidia kernel that causes
failure to launch Xserver...:irked:

tried the latest 4.4.1-2 kernel today that was supposed to have a fix,
but it's a no-go with the same exact bug....very disappointing....

had to regress back to kernel 4.2.5-1 to get system back...

I have Ubuntu, but the open-source Nouveau driver for the Nvidia video card is a constant source of pain. I had to use the proprietary Nvidia drivers to make things work properly.

what linux kernel are you using ???

if you don't know, open a terminal & type uname -a

Looks like an older one than yours: 4.2.0-27

4.2.0-27-generic #32-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 22 04:49:08 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I haven't tried any recent updates to see if the Nouveau driver works any better, these days. Many months ago, I just gave up and switched to the proprietary one.
