The last time I saw him in concert was in 1979 I think. It was the newest version of Jefferson Starship sans Grace Slick, and Marty Balin. He stopped a song, and yelled at someone off stage, "if you want to fuck with someone, fuck with me!" He jumped off the stage and ran off to the side of the theater. I read later that he was angry with a rent-a-cop physically removing a woman from the auditorium. He later climbed back on the stage, and continued his song. I don't think most of us present knew what was going on at the time.

Kantner was one of the few famous people I ever met.

He had a claim on his house in Seacliff (SF) to which I was assigned.

Really nice guy. He said "Hi, I'm Paul".

His kids were little then and there were baby toys all over the house. He had some vintage handbills for 60's SF concerts on the walls which were pretty cool.

Signe Anderson, who was the original female vocalist for Jefferson Airplane, just passed as well. Same day, in fact. She was 74.

She left the band after giving birth to her first child. Grace Slick replaced her.
