View Full Version : AFC Championship Game
You might say that the New England Patriots arrived in Denver for the Conference Championship game with high hopes.
If so, then you have to admit that they left the game with their hopes... deflated.
[ I had to, it was a compulsion ]
You could say that. But, it would be wrong.
It would be wrong to say it? Or it is wrong and should not be said?
Or is it merely wrong for me to say it?
Eagerly awaiting 3 April 2016, roughly 2000 Z...
It's such a pair of horrible puns that it would be wrong to say it.
“NIXON: John, you know I'm not a detail person. I'm focused on macro, global strategy, not details like, say....your last name. Now how much are we talking here, in macro terms?
DEAN: Probably a million dollars--which is hard to raise.
NIXON: John, John, John. You disappoint me. I'm the President. I thought we were talking real money. Why, just on the table over there we must have....Detail! Never mind! Still, there's no problem in raising a million dollars. We can do that, but it would be wrong.”

They would gotten away with it if they had been sent on a mission for St. Helen of the Sacred Shroud.
They would gotten away with it if they had been sent on a mission for St. Helen of the Sacred Shroud.
But they thought they were on a mission from God.
They would gotten away with it if they had been sent on a mission for St. Helen of the Sacred Shroud.
Only if it was 106 miles to Chicago, they had a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and they're wearing sunglasses...

I've lived in Carolina for 15 years and am still a Pats fan.
However, I'd rather see Peyton lose :)
Keep in mind that if the Broncos win, odds are high that Peyton will retire. Which means those gawdawful DirecTV, Nationwide and Papa Johns Pizza commercials will also soon end, I hope.
But if the Broncos lose, odds are better than 50/50 that he'll try and stick it out one more year.
Now you tell me... which of these awful scenarios is the less desireable?

pats fan? why do you hate America?
Lighten up. Being a Pats fan doesn't mean he hates America, only that he hates fair play and honesty.
pats fan? why do you hate America? It's not his fault. Blame his parents.

I was just glad to see the pats get knocked out. and since the pack is out, I don't care who wins.. but I kinda lean Denver just so Manning will get another ring and call it quits thus no more commercials.

I think his commercials could go Nationwide if the Broncos win...

Maybe ads for "blue blocker" cheap sunglasses?
Go Denver!!! (not sure they can pull it off though)
"Its only football"
That being said, some of us are still smarting from the drubbing Denver took from Seattle at the Superbowl in NYC. It was Seattle's first time there. If this happens again with Carolina, Manning & company will have a reputation that will be really hard to recover from.

Super Bowl XL was. 8 years earlier that Super Bowl XLVIII.

I dunno why Manning & Company should take a drubbing at this point, even if they do lose.
Carolina is a freaking hell of team. No matter what happens, I hope it's a good, close game.
Don't ever tell my wife I said it's OK if the Broncos lose.
