It's a shame only 6 DE stations submitted logs. A few of the big guns from years past are missing. :(

The only contest I ever have a shot at winning. :giggity:

I ask for a lot of things. Very rarely do I get any of them. [cue: rimshot]

So, the phone rings a few minutes ago. The Boss hands me the phone, saying "it's for you". Caller ID says it's the number for KB3GMN, our club president. So I grab the phone, say "Hi Carol" wondering to myself "what now?"

Male voice chuckles, and goes "No, it's Richie" N3SBF, her husband. Seems he'd just made a contact on 40 phone, and the guy he worked, who was in DELAWARE, asked Richie if he knew me.

5 minutes later, the KS3D log for the 2016 DE QSO Party is cluttered with another useless entry from WPA.

Jim has an evil laugh, by the way. He clearly takes a lot of pride in it.

I did get to tell him a little tale about, kinda, the gym teacher. Just haven't figured out the appropriate venue to mention it here. Yet.

It was inevitable, I guess.

i was too busy doing yard work yesterday & today. Totally forgot about all of the QSO Parties. Needed IN on 15, DE on 10 & 15... And I missed my chance. Oh well, there will be other times.

Yesterday was the only day you would have had a shot at it. Even then, 20m would have been the only band to do it on.

The bands were nearly dead today. Glimmers of openings here and there. Nothing was even remotely stable.

I had more Qs (774 this year versus 731 last year), but came up short on multipliers (124 this year versus 137 last year). This year's score fell short by 10,000 points, compared to last year.

Given the absolute shit 10 and 15 were, you didn't have a prayer of working me on either. You missed nothing.

Well, I heard the pileups on the east coast but my tiny signal wasn't going to get any attention, so it's all good. Even if I were the only one my lil ole dipole probably wasn't up to the task. Especially at the 100 watt level. Even more so how it was hung (relatively low). I managed exactly four contacts in New England, all on 20 (imagine that!).

Hope you had as much fun as I did. My county line setup gave out double point value since I straddled two counties which made others happy I'm sure. It got me out of the new to me house and on the air for the first time in a few years so that made it just fine. It's nice to be back on the air.

Saw the bandconditions.com charts this afternoon and was really glad the contest wasn't today. Funny how a little solar flare can ruin everything.

Kinda hard to see all the details but it gives you an idea what was up in CN85 on the Clatsop & Tillamook county line off of US 26.

The antenna height was your biggest enemy. The power level isn't the issue. http://3830scores.com/showrumor.php?arg=x7ahzlgcqyccK

It was going well.... until Sunday....
