Would you consider an FT-847? I may cut one of mine loose at some point.
Sell a couple of other rigs as well to fund a mobile upgrade.
An Icom IC-7100. :)

What are you planning on using for an antenna, George?Same as last year. The 6 band ,ground mounted ,butternut vertical. Now an 8 band antenna, with the addition of the 12 and 17 meter add on kits. Soon to be 9 band with the 6 meter add on. Fun, fun, fun.

equipment I know of is still about 3 months off or so. im buying out a SK estate (friend) were still cataloguing everything. I do know he has a 706 and a 706mkii (got a mk2g as well but it has issues) but its going to take a couple more months just to gather EVERYTHING.

I've got a Butternut HF6V which needs a little cleaning. I want to put it up before the WPX contest.
How much trouble did you have setting up the radials and how does it work?

How much trouble did you have setting up the radials and how does it work? I ground mounted it with 12 counterpoise wires each about 20' long. The hardest part was putting them under the soil. Some bands I can use the antenna without the tuner, others need the tuner. But this thing really kicks ass, especially on the higher frequencies. I spent the extra bucks to get the 12 and 17 meter add on kits, it was money well spent.

I mentioned the wrong radio, I'm thing of unloading one of my FT-857's.
One has a minor display issue, (missing an LCD line) but works fine.

Yea, I'm gonna keep that one. The display issues are minor, but I understand.
I'd probably let it go for $600. :dunno:
