This is more from my middle childhood. Every afternoon on the television box.

He made appearances on a couple of celebrity game shows back in the day. I remember him being a dunk tank "target" and getting the audience in stitches before the inevitable occurred.
RIP, Dan.

Donald Trump
Which, will cause the Tea Bag fringes to come completely off the rails with a host of conspiracy theories as to why he was killed rather than a victim of an over-indulgent silver-spool accumulated white privilege lifestyle.

The good old 8 track cart players, I remember them well for changing tracks in the middle of a song. Road trippin'. Now are you talking about road trips, trippin' down the road, or trippin' down the road on a road trip? Mostly we were trippin' down the road on road trips listening to Doctor Trips on the 8 track.

What happened to Audiovox? I became quite the repair expert on them helping a friend, then owner of the Carteret Stereo Center in... Carteret, NJ. We kept a few steel beer cans left over from parties in the back room shop after hours when there were more vans and motorcycles in the lot than during business hours, with the help of tin snips they became heat sinks and springs. Rat Shack supplied grab bag transistors $1 for a bag of 100, I sat there with an ohm meter testing good from bad, NPN from PNP, 8 tracks only cared about correct polarity. Needless to say there was more profit in service than sales. Of course we did installations, easy in the days when there was plenty of room and we didn't have to tear the whole dashboard apart to get at anything. Ah, those were the days when beer flowed like water and marahoochie smoke was so thick we could barely see the 16mm porn flicks projected on the wall, no crappy nothing but S&F stuff, mostly parodies like Cry Uncle (Columbo) and Flesh Gordon battling the Penisaurus.
One last thought, space communication is nothing new, if you were a ham in 1936 you could have worked the planet Mongol!

"She's cute. What's she look like now?"
One of my usual twisted lyrics, this from Paul Simon, still smokin' after all these years.
