A friend told me that if I wanted to be prepared for such an event, all I needed was:

A) A 9mm
B) A couple of clips
C) A box of shells

OK, so now I have all that stuff but I still don't see how any of these things will help protect me!

"It's TEOTWAWKI, and I feel fine... "

Hmmm. Has a familiar ring to it...

That stuff is about as useful as anything else, but just to note;
The shells obviously you can eat
That big bag clip might be illegal in California
The wrench is perfect for getting nuts off, which is pretty much all any of us can do in that situation:sadgoodbye:

I haven't got the foggiest idea WTF you are describing or really talking about! I assume it has something to do with a play of words for some gun whacko thing.......I not into the silly gun crap, as most straight Canadians are not........and really I'm not even interested in Googling it......... but carry on

You seem a bit obsessed with getting your nuts off.

While we're on the topic of discrimination against the LGBT community, let's talk about the ARRL's upcoming Straight Key Night.

So what's the equivalent for the LGBT community? "Gay Key Night" just doesn't have the right, er, ring to it... and for those of us with dirty minds, implies other things as well.

Sideswiper? No.

Hmmm. The Vibroplex bugs do mechanically vibrate... on the other hand... let's not go there.

OK.

Incidentally, there actually is (or was) a battery operated Vibroplex.

The original (triangle shaped) Brass Racer came in two flavors; The Iambic, which is still made (well, theoretically, at the moment it's out of production), was just the paddles.

The Brass Racer EK-1 had a small keyer built into the base, built around the famous Curtis 8044 chip. It went out of production when the Curtis chips became unavailable. And yes, it was battery operated. Always liked it, in concept, but never needed it, as I had (have) an external keyer, and all of my current HF rigs have one built in.

Someone should do that for SKN. The amount of jimmies that would be rustled would be worth it.
