Thanks all y'all! It was a good day—I was off from work and finally, finally finished up the last of The Plumbing Project from HELL. Had to pay $187.43 for a permit before the City of Lemon Groove would allow the gas company to come and turn it back on, the lousy bastids.

You notice that Eddie did not say that he hoped I'd get laid...

So far, its great! I figured i would be on a major 'Fuck Vegas' rant, but meh...its behind us. I am working part time at the local Co-Op doing maintenance around the corner from the house. Looking out at the Penobscot Bay every day doesnt hurt my feelings. Hows life out west?

Sounds great! Live on the Left Coast is...life. The temperatures are finally beginning to cool off a bit and feel like autumn—in the evenings, at least. The XYL and I are seriously considering leaving SoCal for points farther north once the grandkids are back with their mother—assuming that's some time before 2025.

You may want to check this place out, it helps to have a pension or savings. If you can hang financially then you can have a few acres of land to do whatever you want with for very cheap...depending on where you find it, that is. On a bluff overlooking the sea may round you up into the 6 figures, and the property taxes are a bastard, but if you go for a beautiful tract of farm land by a lake back in the woods a ways, you can get all of it for a damn good price. Things move much slower up here.

The town we live in is very friendly, safe, hippie and extremely liberal! We have a waterfront rental for $950/mo. Wood floors, front deck looking out at the bay, you saw the upsidedown pictures and all that. Super cool landlords, an older couple from Skowhegan (SanFran before that) who just want to chat and make jokes, really nice people.

We love exploring the state. Tomorrow, we are headed back to Bar Harbor to goof off. The drive is beautiful and the town is awesome. And if you decide to roll up this way Governor LePlague will be impeached and sent to prison by then so we will have a much more moderate Gov in Augusta. We would actually have the time to meet up with you!

Oh, i want to add that i got the station up and running. This time i did a proper ground with a 2 foot copper rod and ground clamp. The soil is very rich here, a few swings with the framing hammer and that thing drove right in faster than one of Vlad Tepes's accused victims. I also bought a new balun, a fancy one, and cut new wire and strung it up properly.

I have never operated this far east before, i even got on for a few contacts in the CQWW SSB...hearing and working stuff i've never even heard before! Its weird to hear Europe and Africa booming in at 40 over! You come here and get some farmland, you can put whatever metal in the air you like...something to consider. :chin:
