Today was the first time in months I've had both the desire and the free time to get on the radio and what do I find? A major geomagnetic storm in progress, of course. The A Index is 76, the K index is 7. Smoothed sunspot number is a big, big 24. Fabulous.

Good day for watching TV or reading a book, I guess.

i should have worked on antenna today... somehow it has decided its going to send back rf into the rig all of a sudden... worked fine as it was for weeks and now it starts acting up...

Or try out JT-65 HF for the first time. Sucky bands not withstanding, tonight I made a 40m QSO with ZS6WB in Lynwood Ridge, South Africa. That's 10,318.8 mi (16606.5 km) from DM12lr.
