Don't care if it's working or not as long as it's complete, the PA and band switch are in good shape and the front panel isn't beat to snot. Doesn't need to be equipped with filters, either.

A good bit of re-engineering will go into this project so fixing the thing along the way isn't an issue.

Saw that one, Dave. The bidding frenzy is probably going to push it well past the $600 mark...

I just posted your request to the main Ten Tec email reflector. Didn't have a direct email address for you handy, so I've asked interested parties to email me, and I'll forward anything I get here or via PM. Also suggested that they come to the Island directly.

I think we can find you something!

Do you need a Corsair/Corsair II power supply? I have a spare; or I will, once I put the 'light grey" front plate on the one supply and reassemble it (functionally the two supplies are the same, but the Corsair has the "dark" grey color scheme, the Corsair II the "light" grey color scheme... )

I could use another one, Ron. Let me know what you find.

Subject: Corsair II for Fred....

Hi Ron----

I have a nice Corsair II, in really great condition, that I might sell to Fred, for $400, if he'd want to spend that much. No extra filters, just the 2.4 factory one. Serial # 580-02051, so it's a late one.

I used it to tune the lower bands to spot CW pileups, then switch to my Omni V for the really big piles or DX-peditions. It puts out 90-95 watts on 80-20M for sure, just don't have antennas for the higher bands right now. Those are all the bands I have used it on, but I'm fairly sure it has good output on all bands. Cosmetically a 9+, very clean, a non-smoker. I'm just out of desk space......and have to keep moving the Eagle.

I attached a picture that I had on my QRZ website.

Hi Ron,
I have a working C2 here in the UK c/w external vfo and psu, and full set of filters.
Trouble is of course the carriage, unless it is sent by ship as part of another cargo.
I once sent some stuff to VK this way and it worked fine.

We have down sized due to my health so have not got much antenna or house space for all the stuff.
Just considering one of the Italian loop antennas that seem to look ok on paper and put it in the roof space.

Regards

Hi Ron,

I saw you listing on the TT reflector.

I own 2 CII's. The one that I use is pristine and I have replaced the PTO and remote VFO PTO with G3TXQ DDS VFO's which I home brewed and still use. I will keep this one.

About three years ago I purchased this second CII as its back up. It is a late run CII that I bought from the original owner. It is also near mint in all regards including the bandswitch which is still very snappy. Cosmetically it is at least 9.5 of 10. Front panel is perfect. A really, really nice specimen in a sea of beat up CII's of late.

It is fully filtered and I also replaced the stock SSB filters (both) with Inrad 2.8 KHz filters.

I had intended to replace the PTO with the N4YG DDS VFO version but that did not happen. The PTO seems ok but eventually will need building as they all do. I have the original manual with it too. It is fully covered when not used. I have not used it much or recently but last time out it ran perfectly.

I paid $595 for it and would sell it for that price plus shipping.

Ron I am now 66 and own 5 rigs, so, as my eyesight is now waning a bit, and is my interest in
performing mod's, I need to thin the herd. So this CII is now extra to my current plans.

I have no pictures right now to share but can take some later in the week. I still work full time so
it may take a few days for me to get pictures as needed if this rig is of interest to your friend.

Let me know your thoughts.

BTW....Check me out on QRZ.com. I have traded on this list many times. Barry, N1EU can give you input on me as I sold him my Orion II last March.

Shall I reach out to your list friend directly?

I put ads out on Eham and QTH for a C-II as well as inquiring about one on here. It'll take a while to sort through all the replies in my Inbox ...

Looks like I'll pick Wade's up, though.

Here's another one for your consideration... these will be trickling in for a few weeks now, you know that...

Oh, WRT his comment on the band switch knob... probably the plastic is slightly cracked. That's what happened to mine. I got a replacement knob (exact except for the lack of the silver insert) from TT, a few years back, for a few bucks; whether or not they still stock them is another matter, of course.

Hi Ron

I just read that you were looking for a nice corsair II for your friend Fred. I have one I’d like to sell. It is very nice cosmetically, and although I haven’t used it in a few years, I believe it works OK. The 2 issues I know of are flickering of the digital display and actually missing a few segments of it during warm-up, and slightly loose band switch knob - I don’t think the set-screw tightens any more on that knob. I’m sure any buyer would want to fix these things.

The radio looks nice and I think any collector would be happy with its appearance. I also have the 960 power supply, which came with the radio, and which I’d like to go with it. I know some people don’t need these, but I don’t want much for it, and I’d like it to have a new home also.

The radio s/n is 561-02344 and the power supply s/n is 960-00422. Included are optional 288 1.8khz filter and 285 500hz filter. I rebuilt the pto with the rebuild kit in March 2008. I’ve owned the radio since November 1999. I don’t use it at all, since I have newer equipment, but I figure an admirer of Ten-Tec radios might like this unit.

Don’t really know what the going price is… but I’d like $200 plus shipping. I live in Elkhart, IN, you can look me up onwww.qrz.com (http://www.qrz.com/) and see the radio in the small pic at the top. I have a digital camera and would be happy to take any reasonable number of pics of the corsair II to e-mail you.

Please let me know if you or Fred are still interested. Thank you.

Sent you a PM, Ron. I'll take that one also...since I'm going to be messing with a new display board (in cool blue, of course) 'OP's rig looks like a good candidate for a conversion project.

One other Ten-Tec request:

I need a couple front-panel extrusions from a Corsair, Paragon, Omni V/VI, 96x PSU...anything of that line. They're going to be modified so I really don't care which piece of gear they're from...as long at they aren't bent or beat up.

Bumping this back up:

One of the C-IIs which was obtained with Ron's help is now in the lineup and doing its thing.

To do: Redesign the IF/AF board to incorporate an IF-derived AGC, and build a squelch into the revised assembly.
