That's a mighty big guppy!

I have lots of good childhood memories fishing for speckled trout with my dad.

This was the biggest trout ive ever caught to date. And it was also the first trout I've ever tasted.

I painted the filets in a dijon mustard and lemon juice mixture, and then covered them with a mixture of bread crumbs and spices, and pan fried them in butter in a cast iron skillet.

It was very good. Not fishy tasting at all, and the meat was so flaky but firm. Very goot eating.

Was it tasty? Very cool!

I prefer my 21" as light and fluffy powder, but I'm a weirdo ski freak, eh?

Trout, pond-raised catfish and freshwater bass are the only fish I really care for. Would be cool if this area had the former in decent size and quantity.

Right where the white star is. Its an opening between the intracoastal canal and East Galveston Bay. The tide was moving between the canal and the bay and the fish were swarming on the bait fish.

That's because you never lived in Florida because you would like salt water fish too. When I lived in Melbourne we had the best of both worlds, salt and fresh water. Taking 192 west would get us to the St. Johns river where youi could catch large mouth bass all day long. I lived within walking distance of the Indian River and the Atlantic just on the other side. The Croakers, Salt water Bass, and Flounder are excellent, not to mention catching your own fresh shrimp and crabs. The saying goes that if you can't catch fish in Florida you ain't even trying.

By the way CCH, that is a friggen beauty.

My friend caught the 26" red. I only caught the 13" which is under limit in Texas

At our officers fishing tournament two weeks ago someone brought in a 7.3lb trout. THAT was the biggest one I've ever seen.

Lake and river trout here. Rarely over 10 to 12 inches. Usually much smaller. Too small and you must throw them back.
Most of our trout come from the hatchery.

We were in a friends boat. Mine is still at the marine repair place having a bunch of small things done to the motor.

I've seen some impressive catches off the rocks in Galveston, but had no idea there were trout there, too. I was guessing it was a big laker.
