No, it's still around but...the "properties" of the National Geographic Society have been acquired by 21st Century Fox (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/10/business/media/national-geographic-and-fox-form-a-commercial-media-company.html?_r=0).

Here's the cover of December issue:

I had a good chuckle when I read Tom the Dancing Bug this morning. Bolling tends to be very liberal, even so, sometimes he nails it -- and this was one of those times.

Now, just wait until this gets posted Over Yonder. The Usual Suspects will believe it's true (just see that thread about Baoefeng allegedly bringing THP back... almost shocking how many have missed the acronym formed from the "Factual Amateur Radio Technology Services" name... see http://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/baofang-purchased-tokyo-hi-power-assets-new-sdf-hf-radio-in-design.493675/ )

Y5U was duped? I'll mark that down in my book. What's next, dogs sleeping with cats?

I posted that Baufeng SDR nonsense here, a long time ago. The spoofiness was ignored. Heheheh!

Well, it looks like Nat Geode went in the same trash basket as the New Jork Crimes did years before. Does anybody have a match?

It takes a while for The Usual Suspects to catch up.

And even longer for them to catch on.

And unlike the NatGeode post that's thrown The Usual Suspects into Their Usual Hissy Fit, that sale was for real.

Remember when Bob Dylan grew his hair down to his feet so strange he looked like a walking mountain range. Then he rode into Omaha on a horse. Out to the country club and the golf course, carrying a New York Times, shot a few holes and blew their minds.

BTW, is there a New Yersey Tymes ? I could picture it at a news stand as ol' Shep passed the diner on route 1.

On September 9, 2015, the National Geographic Society (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Geographic_Society) announced a deal with 21st Century Fox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21st_Century_Fox) that would move the magazine to a new partnership, National Geographic Partners, controlled by 21st Century Fox.[6] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Geographic_%28magazine%29#cite_note-6)
