So far, not 2 west coast teams! This was a good weekend for Ohio football fans! This season would be a rare chance to play the Super Bowl at home. WHO DEY? OH.......
P.S The Buckeyes offence was horrible. The only thing that clinched that game was the interception and TD by the defense. There will be no championship bowl if this persists.

...no, I've never seen the Steelers play at Heinz Field (as in sitting in the stands surrounded by Steeler Nation). The only time I ever sat in a seat at Heinz Field was the day I was accompanying Little Miss Field Day (as her parent/legal guardian since she was still underage) to her American Idol audition, which was 4 years ago.
I did see ONE Steeler pre-season game live at 3 Rivers Stadium, circa 20+ years ago; my boss (at the time) got us tickets with parking, so the Boss & I took her parents. Glad I did it once. No desire to do it again.

You know, you really need to seek professional help about this obsession with football.
You should be concentrating on something really important. Like baseball.

Well, after beating the fur off the Cleveland Browns last Sunday and after putting their collective feet up the rear ends of Pittsburgh Sheilas for wearing those ridiculous Bumble-bee costumes out on the field, The Cincinnati Bengals have this Sunday off.

Congrats to the Bengals for being the first team in the AFC North to start 8-0! The Buckeyes are 9-0!! It is good to be an Ohio football fan this year!

Yeah, Crappie season.

"Crappy Season?"
Look, if that's how you feel about the Reds, that's your problem. I'm really not interested. Not after watching 20 years of losing baseball while married to a Pirate Fanatic.

And the Walleye run on the Maumee River, good thing the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl will be over with.
Funniest thing, there was a time when, every day that I went to work, a Cincinnati Reds baseball game broke out in the background.

then, after Baseball season was over, they would ship us to Cleveland. Ever been to Cleveland's Football field? Try carrying / vending 48 plastic bottles of beer and ice up those steps from the concourse. (http://www.delawarenorth.com/industries/sports)

Funny people at Cleveland Football games, they don't say excuse me or try to go around you, they step over you or, on you as you try to avoid the fights in the stands.

They sent you to CLEVELAND?
You were a vendor for the Brownies? For Modell's Meatballs?
That explains a lot. Quite a lot. You have my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies.

Yup, I was the guy who came in early, took responsibility and stayed late; never cared about the score, only what inning they were in so I could out my bank. More times than not, I didn't find out the score until I got home.
All I have to show for it is a Gold Wristwatch.

"What inning they were in?"
When the Browns were playing?
All righty then. Nothing more need be said.
Well, OK, just one more thing. I am reminded of this dialogue from Ferris Bueller's Day Off:

Ed Rooney (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000470/?ref_=tt_trv_qu): What's the score?
Pizza Joint Owner (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0896649/?ref_=tt_trv_qu): Nothin' nothin'.

Let me help you with this, from April to September (61 home games) in Great American Ballpark, I managed the In-seat Service Pantry for the season ticket holders. Starting in August, lasting until January, I performed the same job at Paul Brown Stadium. The servers equipped with hand-held Point-of-sales units transmitted the orders back to the pantry where Cooks grilled, Runners assembled the orders and, delivered the food to the seats; from Hot Wings and Hot Bratwursts to Ice Cream, Salads and Sushi. Alcohol and Beverage service was available.
I came in early because, I took inventory and received the "Bank" for the Servers. During the game, I managed the kitchen/pantry and, at the end of the seventh ending or the third quarter, I closed down sales, ran the DSR for each Server and collected the monies and balanced my bank. I oversaw the clean-up and closing, did a final inventory and dropped of the bank at the cashier window. The game was long over when I left.
When bused to Cleveland ( Detroit and St. Louis) we were all Beer Vendors; sales of alcohol stopped at the end of the third quarter.
Ron, I remember see somewhere that you were once employed in the Fast-Food Service, Burger King I think; if so, you know the drill. Remind me to tell you about some Fast-Food management nightmares.

That's because you threw a ball that was high and away from the strike zone or, maybe it's because I'm vertically challenged.

Funny thing...
Little Miss Field Day & I walked into Canonsburg Hospital a little after 2 for afternoon visiting hours with the Boss. Every TV, and I mean EVERY TV, is tuned to the Steelers game.
Except one.
The Boss is sitting in a chair next to her bed... Watching NCIS reruns on the USA Network.
Nurse sticks her head in, let us know which channel the game is on. The Boss says, quietly, "You've told me 3 times already" and then louder enough for the nurse to hear "Thanks anyway"
I've told you guys (or should I say "yunz guyz" ?) before. I married a baseball Fanatic.
SO...

Wow, that was fugly. Especially at the end. Close, exiting, but the end was bad news.
Marvin Lewis has a couple of players that he has to get under his control... if he doesn't, then when he loses his job, it will be his own fault. And I hate to say that, I really do, he's a good coach and he did a tremendous job with what he had to work with.
But when your players play dirty... when it's the same players who have previously been fined by the League (and not a token amount) for injuring players on the opposing team with unnecessary hits... and the penalties imposed on those players cost you the game (in this case, changing a questionable FG to a near guaranteed one)... you have a problem.
The Bengals will be seen and heard from again, I predict that they will peak with the next Solar Cycle, 25.

Too rough, not cool. I watched most of the game. It came to a very ugly conclusion.
Bengals got it close, can't blame it on the fumble, really.
It became theirs to lose. Sorry.

Well, having been married to a Pirates fanatic for 24 years (as of our next anniversary in less than 2 weeks), who dated her for 2 years before that... and who lived through the frustrations of 20 straight losing seasons...
I actually do have a modicum of sympathy for the Bungles fans. No, really, I do. They don't know true suffering... at least they had some winning seasons, and several Division wins... but, I understand.
Besides, there's always the Reds...
... hmmm, on second thought ...
