I have always liked this time of year... it starts with my birthday... Oktoberfest... then hockey season starts.. then Halloween... then contest season starts (CW SS)... then Thanksgiving... then Christmas... then SKN... then the SKCC anniversary event in January...

Around thanksgiving I start buying brandy and Cognac...

Thanks everyone... had a great birthday. The original plan was to head out to a nice restaurant with my wife. However, she suggested making steaks on the grill and eat outside on our back deck. She picked up the supplies and since I love cooking, I made us a nice birthday feast: rib-eye steaks, mushrooms and onions marinated in red wine, baked rosemary mini potatoes, and steamed asparagus. A nice glass of Merlot accompanied the meal. A much better idea than going out.
Afterwards, I set the astro-imaging rig (which I haven't done in a while) under very clear skies and acquired some data on the Hercules Globular Cluster. The weather is supposed to be nice all week so I left the mount set up and plan to get some more data acquired tonight (red, green, and blue).
