No surprise, I knew he was terminally ill, but I'm sad none the less—another brilliant mind gone. Read the NYT obit here (http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/31/science/oliver-sacks-dies-at-82-neurologist-and-author-explored-the-brains-quirks.html?_r=0).

I didn't know he was a former amateur weightlifter, and held a California state record with a 600lb squat.

Dude really was the most interesting man in the world.

I only learnt he was terminally ill a few weeks ago, and this makes me very sad. I just got his last audiobook which, sadly, isn't read by him.

Dr. Squat. That's what they called him.
