Bummer. We used to PM about "adventures in cancer".

He was still in remission then. Sigh. :sadwave:

Oh wow. RIP, OM. Not sure why you left our shores but say Hey for us up there.

I fear that he left these shores because I (and a couple of others, but mostly me) gave him grief whenever he went off on one of his conspiracy theories—9/11 “truth” in particular.

That said, and regardless of our past differences, I'm saddened to hear of Paul's passing. RIP, Paul, wherever you may be. Say hello to Albi and Bob for us if you can.

A couple of years ago, Paul drove to Dayton (might have been his last time). He stopped here in Pittsburgh for an overnight break, plus he wanted an opportunity to ride some of the Light Rail Transit (ie trolly) lines.

I met him over at Station Square (the former P&LE headquarters and warehouse buildings). We had lunch at a "retro" diner then in operation, BS'd for a while. I ended up giving him a "10 minute tour" as we walked across the Smithfield Street bridge and into downtown. Last I saw of him that afternoon, he was heading up towards the US Steel building and the Grant Street "T" station on the LRT... I had to head back to work.

Very pleasant afternoon, short as it was, and a real pleasure.

Paul had planned on coming back to Pittsburgh near the end of the summer. He wanted to take in a ball game at PNC Park. Sadly, his health issues prevented that from ever happening.

He is and will be missed.

Man, that pretty much sucks. Sad to hear, even though we butted heads here sometimes, he was still a pretty cool cat, all things considered.
