If you want the best hot in the world, you have to go to Reykjavik Iceland! No kidding! Their name "Bæjarins beztu pylsur" translates as "The best hot dog in town". I have been there and what they say about this place is absolutely true! This little hot dog stand has been serving hot dogs at the harbor since 1937!

Bill knows his hot dogs, they don't make them with meat paste in Iceland. Maybe ground reindeer and husky doo doo but not meat paste.

I cook alotta hot dogs at Kiwanis BBQs and such. I like the really fat ones, and give them a good blackening. Then some children complained they were too well done! HEY, this is a BBQ!! If u didn't want them BLACKENED, then you should have boiled them!
For myself, I make what I call a "CARCINOGEN DOG" It is 100% blackened all around, not just grill marks! It takes quite awhile to cook it to get it burnt enough. Once blackened, I slit it down the center and open it slightly to put cheese inside. the cheese is cut into 1/2 inch by 4 inch strips. once inserted, I wait for the Cheese to melt and then remove it, placing inside a well toasted HOT DOG BUN!
To that I add, MUSTARD (GREY PUPOUN TYPE), some CATSUP (as opposed to Ketchup) then plenty of pickle relish but NO ONIONS!!
ONIONS are highly poisonous (except on WHITE CASTLES)
OH it tastes great!! I had one like that on the 4th of July!

Cooked some today for the DXBASH, a picinic for the So Cal DX CLub and San Diego DX CLub. I didn't burn them to a crisp like I like them, except the one I made for me! The atttendees just loved them!!
