Forget tires. I'd like to send some bowling balls and some large heavy lead balls down that jump ramp.

Only if you send them down immediately behind Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Rick Perry, Rick Scott, Rick Santorum, Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul...

.....Justin Bieber.......

Bob thinks Justin Biber is dreamy. He also scares bears (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2716479/Fisherman-saved-bear-attack-Justin-Bieber-ringtone-went-mauled-scared-bear-away.html).

He scares me, too. So does Bieber, and bears.

Funny vid. Japanese humor sometimes gets "lost in translation", but not this one.

Gotta love the white lab coat and gloves. Serious bidness...

It would be even more exciting if they rode inside the tire.

The humor got lost in the science for me!

Galileo proved that objects fall at the same rate regardless of the weigh.

I'm watching the clip and I'm wondering, if the weight doesn't matter, why is one tire faster than another and why are the tires landing at difference distances?

As far as speed was concerned, "rolling resistance" or coefficient of friction between the surface and the tire (after it stopped wobbling and started rolling straight) made the difference. Wind resistance made a difference when it came down to distance, the fatter tire had more wind drag.

It appears that the huge truck was too heavy for the ramp structure which broke under it's weight but, appeared to travel farther than the tires projected up by the angle of the ramp.

The guys in the white coats could really use that ramp to design some really efficient tires if they tried.

Ski jumping is insane. and it is very "scientifical"

However, this is not free fall. It's a jump off a ramp.

Need to test with a bicycle rim and tire.

Here's a video of Robbie "Maddo" Maddison testing it with two motorcycle rims and tires... while still attached to the bike... with him on it!
