The only conversation this Carl has had with the Border Patrol at that border was "Have you committed any crimes in Mexico other than than one we just witnessed?". It was around 2 am and we were so drunk we couldn't figure out how to get across that foot bridge thing to cross the freeway to get back. So we jumped the fence and ran across the freeway to the check station. Every in it saw us do it. There's a lot more to that story for another time but they did let us through about 10 feet in front of TJ cops or Federales or someone screaming "HALTO! HALTO!...."

Well I'm glad you found it and got it fixed. I was bringing you a new bypass hose and some tools. I got as far as Yuma then saw you were back on the road, so I turned around. It's probably for the best anyway since I was in such a hurry to help my BFF out of a jam, that left my metal detector and surfboard at home. I hate it when that happens.

That's called Hottentot Fig. The California DOT used to use it to stabilize hillsides but it turned out that it's not very good for that. Now it's a real invasive PITA all over state.

Now that you ask, I don't really know why they call those things a "bypass hose" since more often than not they really don't bypass anything. This one led from the cylinder head to another part of the engine block. Most big trucks have an inline six diesel, BTW—tractor trailer rigs around 14-15L in size, the one I'm driving probably more in the 10L range. Only 255HP but a metric shit-ton of torque.

Interesting.......... when I was living in Parksville,I had mallow plants as a border along the side of my driveway......I had a couple up from California on vacation tell me that if I had done that in California I would've been cited for having noxious invasive weeds! most strange ......but understandable :dunno:
