I see where there is a new TV series of this running in the UK. Supposedly, it isn't the puppets, but rather CGI and miniatures. Being an elderly adult, I don't mind telling you that I always enjoyed the TBirds, and have seen most of the episodes many times over the years. Actually, I still enjoy most any kind of cartoon show. That probably says a lot about me, and why I enjoy this place, too; but I digress.
So far, the only networks carrying the new show are ITV and CITV, neither of which I get. The new series started last month, and evidently they are scheduled to be in production through 2017. I'd love to see how it compares to the old shows. Rosamund Pike is the voice of Lady Penelope, so it has that going for it anyway.
Anybody had a chance to see any of these somewhere yet?

Not seen it yet though through satellite reception I can get the UK satellite channels.
I think most of us here grew up with series like the thunderbirds, and Saturday mornings the cartoons.
At least til I was 15 from then on I worked every freee hour to spice up my non existing pocket money.
Thunderbirds F-A-B!

Yeah, I know. The original was that way, but the new one isn't. BTW I just found Season 1 Ep1 on Dailymotion but haven't watched it yet.

You do know what "F A B" actually stands for, don't you?
Nothing.
It was a play on "Fabulous", but the story goes that they just wanted to create a futuristic term that would be unique to the show. So the Anderson's came up with that.
BSG 2 did the same thing with the 'f' word... Frak.

I - in turn - devised that interpretation for a mate from Coventry, who was a childhood fan of the series. Needless to say, the term stuck. Rather well around our circle of friends and known associates.

Understood. And I like it, by the way. Gives a whole new meaning to so many episodes...
Reminds me, has Jonathan Frakes directed any other movies since Thunderbirds tanked? And who was responsible for that terrible script?

Go easy on Eddie. He doesn't appreciate the Flintstones because he remembers that era himself.

I still know how to milk a few more comments from a dead thread.

This thread is quite interesting, considering that I have no clue as to what you're talking about.
