Finally getting around to rehanging my 40m dipole, which blew down in the last storm of 2014. Today, I was using my fishing rod to toss a line over the tallest tree on the property. It's in my front yard, which meant I had to stand right on the edge of the street to make my cast. I got lucky and made a perfect cast on the first try and as I was reeling in to pull the 3/16" polyester rope, a woman driving by stopped and asked "Are there fish in that tree?"

Naturally, I answered "Yes, ma'am. I once caught a tree trout this long."

She laughed and drove on; she didn't ask me what I was really doing and I didn't tell her.

After work today, I'm gonna see if I can't land a few of the wily arboreal bass. Catch-and-release, of course.

The full genus is Arboreal Surreal Bark Bass.
