It's all old school legitimate, Carl. I moved from California to Illinois to Washington. That's three call signs. In the old days, you would've had to change calls involuntarily every time you changed call district.

I feel like a kid amongst all of the experience represented here. I do remember the thrill of getting that damned "N" prefix changed to a "B". I went from WN8YUD to WB8YUD/DT. When I finally got the phone privileges having been CW only. The first time is keyed up and spoke, "WB8YUD interim DT" I was so excited that I almost peed my pants. Now, I pee my pants because it is 4:00 AM.

By the time I got around to taking the test, there wasn't a Novice test to take anymore :twisted:

Lucky for us Novice was grandfathered so we get a shot at 10M below 28.5MHz which is just fine, that's where most of the action is. What irks me is the FCC ran out of all but Novice calls and they don't reissue so I got stuck with one. Then nobody can think of any cute phonetics, one came up with Very Xcellent Amateur I never used. I may be the Golden Boy but I'm not THAT conceited! Now what was the DT for, delirium tremens? There are some CW ops with shaky fists making copy difficult, I suppose they may need a stiff drink?
