Surprised there were so few issues with North American ops... :chin:

So goes life in the contest world. Too bad they would cheat just for a piece of paper, and maybe some bragging rights.

Exactly. Like anyone cares.

Fastest way to lose my attention? Start talking about your contest results.

NP2P raises an eyebrow.

But as for the rest, if you listen really closely you can hear the whining from Italy over here.

But...but...but...

I do the same with DXing counts, so I guess I can understand.

Same here, although I don't mind hearing about it when someone bags a rare DX entity.

Some day, I might give it a try. How big of a bag do you need?

That depends on the entity in question. When I bagged China, it required one hell of a burlap sack while Montenegro only required a plastic shopping bag.

There's a regular on a local 2M FM net whose sole report is what is DXCC Challenge count is, and how many of the Lard 'n Guano Islands he's worked over the last week.

I literally know nothing else of the man.

The whining has gotten worse, on the CQ Contest reflector, since many are anticipating, with dread, the upcoming release of the CW results.

Let 'em sweat, the cheatin' bastids.

A couple of questions:

How does CQ detect unclaimed assistance? Do they have actual recordings?

What is 'self spotting'?

How did they know the HG3 was running too much power?

They busted a bunch of non-US stations for blowing through the 40 meter band limit. I find it hard to believe there wasn't ANY US stations out of band on 40 meters OR too close to the band edges on 20 or 15.

Like Dave said, I can't believe CQ found only 2 FCC licensed stations with issues.

Self-spotting is when you report your run frequency on the cluster, instead of waiting for someone else to report you. Universally poo-poohed.

Ask OINK. He'll explain the evils of contesting and why contesting is useless. :snicker:
