i haven't started because i can't tell how i'm going to end up using them (and whether or not it'll end up being something i mess with a few times and then decide it's cool and move on).

I use them for recording and streaming audio for my business, and I use them connected to 42" TV's for display of stats in call centers.

I was thinking of it then decided it's not worth the bother.

I use one to run my DVAP Dongle for DSTAR. I have two more that are going to be HSMM nodes eventually, unless I decide to dedicate them to something else.

Here's a two year old presentation that shows some of the things you can do in ham radio with the Pi -

Lots more pop up every day...

I have one that we use at the fire station to display our iamresponding screen. Works mostly great. Running Rasbian and Iceweasle and the thing kept crashing. Finally gave in last week and re-installed the OS and went with Midori as the browser of choice. Seemed to be working better other than the fact every time I came in to the station the tv was off. Finally figured it out after about a week. Yesterday morning at 4AM when I came through the door getting ready for a mutual aid call I could tell the tv was on, just had the screen blanked. That's when I remembered that I hadn't installed xscreensaver when I re-installed Rasbian. Came back in from the call and took care of that and all is well once again. Rpi's are fun little toys. I wish I had a dozen of the things.

I started experimenting a little with the Pi at work quite a few months ago,, and then things got busy, and one thing led to another...

Right now, it's sitting on my desk. Not sure yet what I'm going to do with it.

The announcement of the upcoming Raspberry Pi 2 is interesting, especially since Micro$oft has indicated that they're going to release a version of Windows 10 to run on it.

If anyone is interested in picking up a slightly used Pi -- once I get the Pi 2 -- we'll talk. But first things first.

I do. In the past, I've used it for a Synchronet BBS connected over AX.25. Not using them much for ham radio these days, but more for embedded projects, where I need something low power. Even then, they're falling less into use for me, due to myself finally getting the hang of arduinos.
