You can't be seen at a hamfest without one.

And suspenders and a 40lb+ beer gut.

All you need now is a yellow glow vest, and a hamvention ball cap.

$115. Came with a BC-35 drop in charger and an alkaline battery holder.

Should have checked the repeater directory for 1.2 ghz machines...

Janet. One simple question.
Do you want to put up a super antenna for 1.2?
It would be small enough. Main investment would be in coax.
It would be an interesting monitoring experiment in the propagation and conditions involved.
Me personally, I wouldn't do it unless I wanted to build a repeater for it and lived somewhere where I had a nice tower.

Well..... if I understand the band plans for U.S. Ops .......1.2 Ghz is a band where even Novice class licence holders may operate........ suppose you can look at it that way...... :chin:

There used to be a few 1.2 ghz machines in Dayton. They only got used during hamvention by visitors.

Weirdly enough, there's a 1.2gig machine less than 20 miles from me, but it's D-STAR only. Boo hiss.
