Same deal with the Padres, who made some major changes during the off season. They'll likely suck anyhow, but it will be interesting to see if maybe they'll suck a little less.

Baseball is a thinking man's game. It's a contest of skill and strategy, not one of speed and athleticism. Some (lesser) people don't get it and that's okay, but one shouldn't criticize what one doesn't understand.
And now, it is time once again, for the 2015 telling of the Jack Bogut Annual Joke.

Q: Why won't they be serving bottled beer at PNC Park this year?
A: Because (all together now)
The Pirates Lost The Opener.
*sigh*

The baseball commish has had so many complaints from the likes of Gerry, they are forming Hockeyball teams to play in Canada. The field will look the same, except it will be on ice. The players will use bats instead of sticks, a ball instead of a puck, and so fourth. (notice the u)
Gerry will be the Canadian commish of the UHAC (United Hockeyball Association of Canada), pronounced you hacks. Originally, they were just going to be HACS, but they needed the "U" in there somewhere.
Will never happen.
I hope it does.
It's really highly bullshit for municipalities to give away public money for playpens for rich people.
A football stadium especially. How many dates a year? 12? MAYBE?
At least the LA stadium proposals don't have the same amount of giveaways that the Chargers want.
I hope the Raiders move too. The LAST priority for Oakland/Alameda County should be some goddamn sports team.

Had you not put the "U" in there, they wouldn't have had a clue as to what you were talking about. Hockeyball rules !!!!!

I know it's still very early in the season but the Padres have six (count 'em!) players hitting at .300 or above. That's so...unPadre-like. Of course, they also have four position players hitting below the Mendoza Line, which is very Padres-like. All in all, though, it looks like it might be worth paying attention to the team this year.
