Wire curtain array?

85' freestanding tower, Tennadyne T10, M2 full-sized 2-element 40M beam and remote matching network to base-load it for 80 and everything else, plus a few miles of 12AWG radials...

It's an idea :twisted::yum:

Is there a budget or wife involved?

Keep it simple.

Dipole-doublet cut for 80 meters, (its OK if it's a little longer) fed with balanced (ladder) line and a stout tuner for the power you are running. Put the feed point up as high as you can, vee or flat-top. A flatter dipole is usually better for longer distances on the higher frequencies, with a vee adding a vertical component to help longer distances on the lower bands. The flatter antenna will be more directional as well on the lower frequencies... broadside to the wire.

A bonus for an antenna like this is it's real decent as an SWL antenna, just peak the receive noise with the tuner.

I Agree With This Completely
