So how da weather yo?

So If one is to search though some of the ham groups on crapbook. one may see some orange vest butthurt. Yes I actually read one dudes rage out rant about ARRL HQ/W1AW closing due to weather......

He things they should be on the air cause of the "emergency"...

bloody hell, that is really what NYC & NE needs is a shit load of fat ass smelly hams with orange vests and 10 HT's on the belt getting in the way and causing problems for the real emergency services so the orange vest crowd can "save the day"

Seriously, If the real Public Safety people need hams help THEY WILL BLOODY ASK! till then STFU and go play on 3843 or get on some 2m repeater and talk about how you ain't been able to poo in a week or something...

Jesus H Christ these damn emcomm wackers just don't get it. No wonder the general public looks at ham as if hams were low info idiots.

"...or get on some 2m repeater and talk about how you ain't been able to poo in a week or something."
No no a thousand times NO! That's for the Tri-Cunty Radiblow ASSociation W2LI(D) repeaters up north where the Skyporn whackers hang out, thank the radio god we don't have that shit (sic) down here! I'll never forget when Sue KB2SFH and I were listening to the 2M repeater when the Whacker Brigade showed up and the NWS hadn't called for spotters, a bunch of mindless "I saw a raindrop or two" chatter when Al Roquefort Cheese flew over in a helicopter. It was SO damn funny, one of those ROTFLOL situations that caught me off guard and didn't have my recorder on... RATS! That prompted Skyporn to move to the 70cM machine as if that would make any difference locking the barn door after the horse was stolen.

As you may have guessed by now I never was particularly fond of repeaters and seldom used one for other than the originally intended purpose, extending the range of mobile to mobile communications. The plain and simple of it is out of the living most are the radio version of QRDead and the rest are just dead nowadays, the lights are on but nobody home. The good part is I always knew where to find someone I wanted to talk with, the bad part is the noobs I could QSY to simplex with but I couldn't pry the old buzzards loose with a crowbar!

Around here the "great historical blizzard of 2015" didn't amount to much. It was basically a fizzle. Matter of fact all it amounted to here was our typical 3 to 4 inch snowstorm. eastern Long Island, Connecticul, Massachusettes, Rhode Island, etc. got hit hard though.

Southeastern Connecticut after cleanup - about 20 inches of snow fell, there was some rumble of thunder during the early morning hours

That's about what it looks like here, if we got that thunder snow I slept through it. I remember a blizzard back in the early 60s one Saturday when lightning hit fast and furious all day long, no more than 15 or 20 seconds between strikes. I'd like to post a picture or two but installing the required software for my camera on a computer that's not mine really isn't a good idea.

The wackers, and 'SCARE CENTER7' local tv station are trying to whip up a fear fest here. It is winter in Ohiya folks get the F over it. I have survived 3 real blizzards, and this is not it. I hear that there is some sort of football game going on.
