So, about a year or so ago, Sean, the webmaster for my club set up an email reflector on GoogleGroups. A lot of reasons behind that, one of which is that YahooGroups (that we'd been using for over a decade) kept making changes that made management more difficult, and other things not worth mentioning.
Not to mention that Sean is managing the new group... I was managing the old one, so it's one less thing for me to worry about.
I get forwarded an email from Sean this afternoon. He has a request from someone he's never heard of to join the new group. Name doesn't look familiar. I check Over Yonder... no ham with that last name, let alone someone in our club. My immediate instinct is to reject. However, I want to be sure, so in the interests of due diligence, I do a search on the request-er's email address.
And the second item that comes up on the search? A link to a post. On the "Speedos Fantasy Board". Which appears to be a discussion board devoted to men who like to wear and trade Speedos. And this person? He has extras and wants to trade.
Really?
Who's got the brain bleach handy? I need a fresh dose!
