View Full Version : My Panadapter

Hmmm. Wonder when he's going to have support for the Omni VII?
When he gets to the K3, I might bite.
If he had one that worked with the IC-746PRO, I'd buy one right now. Well, next payday, anyhow.

I see he has one for the FT-2000. Wonder if that would work on the FT-5000?
I have a DMU-2000 now, but his has a PRETTIER screen and more info
Steve, if you're reading this, it's not very hard to tap the first IF on a 746PRO...

My system will not work with the K3. I managed to find an owner of one who wanted to experiment. Testing went poorly.

Pat,
The First IF on the FTDX-5000 is at 9MHz.
These dongles work from 25 MHz up to 1.7GHz. See the problem? Even if you use an Upconverter, all you get is the display. The LP PAN setup is really what you want, though it isn't nearly as good as mine.

My system kicks the DMu-2000 ass!

Hi Carl,
That video is for the IC-756 Pro II and III. The guy is making a huge mistake with that buffered amp as well. The last thing one of these dongles needs is more gain being sent to it.
There is a mod for the IC-746. I don't support mods because many hams are capable of doing them, many more can't and some of those are willing to try. The first radio that got damaged would somehow be my fault.
I only support radios we can plug a cable into.
If you want to find the mod, and mod your rig, I would be perfectly happy to help you with information.
