Did anyone see last nights fireball that appeared along the east coast around 6:30 pm eastern time last night. I got a good glimpse of it, it appeared to be illuminated bright greenish-blue with reddish-white sparks trailing it. Shortly before it went dark it looked to me like it fragmented into 2 separate fireballs but, there were some trees between my and my view of the meteor so the fragmentation might just have been an optical effect. I've seen several fireballs around here but this one was bigger brighter and longer lasting than most.
More about it here.

You should have just prayed it away, John.

I tried to pray the gay away, but it made more sense to let him stay.

Actually it was heading right for me but I dived out of the way just in the nick of time. :snicker:;). Then I picked it up and hurled it back up into the heavens. :snicker: All kidding aside, actually I did file a report with the American Meteor Society. They use the data to try and determine its trajectory. I wonder where it landed. Probably somewhere up in the Arctic. When I was a young lad I saw a really beautiful fireball one spring evening. It was at dusk and the sun had not yet fully set. Suddenly this large and very beautiful fireball streaks across the sky. It was bright blue and white with a long tail of white sparks. And even after it vanished it left a heavy smoke trail in its wake. I remember reading that it landed somewhere in far northwestern Canada.

Eddie and his geography.... tsk, tsk. You should know I am south western Canada.North Western would make me in the Yukon! Not to worry...... when you were thinking "south western" the Unexplored Southern Area of Arizona most likely came to mind.......

With a projectile coming straight for them, I think you meant Ducking, B.C.

The guy I saw buy that stuff at the Benton City Conoco was sure high class.
He had a grade A brown paper bag and the best spot next to the Freeway with his "Hungry, anything helps and God Bless" sign.
How 'bout this?

It's not mine. OSB? Old Shitty Bastard? On South Broadway? Even though the dude has my exact face guard, and one sander and miter saw that is like mine. Wait a minute, this is the guy that broke into my place and stole all of it. OSB included.

I use a 12x21 VS. I thought about a longer distance BC, but I just turn bowls, table legs, and stuff like that. Besides, I still buy my Louisville Sluggers at the store.
I have just about every other wood working tool imaginable, although I'm going to sell off the Radial Arm Saw as I don't use that much any more. I'll probably get a 10" slider to replace it since any wider crosscuts I just do with my circular saw and a straight edge.
Oh how I love to make sawdust. It brings an inner peace, and outer splinters.
