View Full Version : Youkits, X1M and similar rigs - anyone worked with them?

Better still, has anyone remoted their control panels?

I see a nice, lightweight bicycle-mounted alternative to an FT-817ND but I want to put the thing in a water resistant enclosure on the rear rack, with a control head mounted on the handlebars.

A 5 band (20-10M) version with an LDG autotuner and a 10AH battery would make for an interesting settup when coupled to the 9ft fiberglass bike flag mast/whip antenna I have sitting in my garage.

I've kinda been waiting for an answer to your question. There seems to be a whole series of cheap transceivers on ebay lately. Nothing screams "buy" louder to me than cheap + at least 20 watts.
