Anything to do with space and technology has always grabbed my attention. After 10 years of travel, they get this lander safely on the surface of a comet speeding through space. Although there are some issues, just getting it there, down within 50 meters of the target, and sending back photos and data is absolutely amazing. This is one story that I will Shirley continue to follow.

The Dutch made all solar cells, special ones that need to deliver enough power even when the solar panels catch not much light being so far from the sun.
So, yes watching what happens there too, not a Mars landing and walking around there, but still a nice piece of work done including NASA.

Nobody but you really cares about that stuff, Cor. It's a great effort in space exploration by the ESA and that's all that matters.

I hear the First Dutch designed solar array was rejected!

Not much wind in outer space is it ? ;)

Goddamn it, how did those bastards find out about that? Heads are gonna roll...

Someone took a leak. There's always a leak.

From what I read today it may be a short mission. I guess it bounced three(!) times. The first bounce sent it a few KM back above the comet and lasted a few hours....

And where it landed its kind of shaded, will only get about 1.5 hours of sun a day. Preliminary analysis at least.

But the fact they got the thing not only to orbit a comet but send a lander.....Han Solo would be proud.

Even I get boarded sometimes. You think I have a choice?

News Update... After the mass of the ESA Lander bounced across the Comet, the course of the comet was changed by the impacts by just 1/10 of a degree. Scientists say the new calculated course of the comet is expected to impact with earth now! ESA aren't you suppose to call your pocket before the shot. (humor and sarcasm)
