I want a car that fits "ME" !! I want a car that gets me recognition and the more recognition I get the more I want. I need to inflate my ego and I think I can do it via my car.

I can't believe the crap that passes for TV these days.:(

Nothing wrong with that. I have a friend who drives the same vehicle. It serves him well through the seasons and he's satisfied with it. It's just that this particular show struck me as peculiar. As if stating that a man's car should be an extension of his ego, aka his "di*k". I find that sort of publicity and acknowledgement as being more vain and obnoxious than informative. That's why I say kudos to those who find a car that fits their needs rather than their egotistical dreams.

I'll bet my 26 year old GMC S-15 fits better than your twenty-year-old Ford Ranger

I could imagine if I appeared on the show. I would probably be the first guy to which they match to the Yugo, They might even make me and the Yugo a "married pair". LOL

I have yet to see a CAR or Truck that is more "ME" than a TOWN CAR! It is designed for Cross Country travel, has loads of trunk space. The seats are as comfortable as a RECLINER and the car is built like a TANK and could go head on into a Freight Train, with me still walking away! Not particulare bad gas mileage (25MPG!) Not a Race Car, No one ever squeals out in a TOWN CAR!
Most Town cars are in LIMO Service or driven by Blue haired old ladies to BINGO! I have yet to find a better car for my particular use than a LINCOLN TOWN CAR!

Here in rich man's land it's always a penis with wheels red Corvette or Porsche and the wife driving a look at me I've got money black Cadillac Escalade. When they're not driving a few blocks to go shopping or pick the kids up at school they're walking their purebred showoff dogs, more of that look at me I've got money stuff. People around here have mile wide egos and skyscraper noses making me wonder how they manage to fit through the door. They're so full of themselves they probably watch that show commenting to each other about the paeons and their inferior cars.

I just assumed he spelled it wrong because I just know he would never say anything off color.

And, as far as cars go.....

My 51 Hornet ragtop can blow the wheels off your Montclair.

My favorite car would be a pick-up with no payment book, flat black paint, outlaw bumpers and appropriate antennas. The kind of truck that other people are afraid to park next to. 1955 Power Wagon would be nice.

The moonshiners drove Hudson Hornets?

Not exclusively but it was a favorite. And the Hudson Hornet won the early NASCAR races back when stock cars really were stock.

K7SGJ

Due to the steering system, it was difficult to make a right turn in a Hudson, hence, NASCAR is all left turns. A natural for the Hornet.

Not exclusively but it was a favorite. And the Hudson Hornet won the early NASCAR races back when stock cars really were stock.I know that the Hudson Hornet was a fabulously successful street racer, and won something like what, 80%of the early NASCAR races it was in, back in the mid-1950's. (Thus the nod to "Doc Hudson" in the animated movie Cars.)

There's a nice, short writeup about it on Wikipedia, amongst other places.

So I figured that's what you MEANT. But "begat"? Nah. That came from the moonshiners.

...no attempt to show you up there, Your Holey-ness. I promise to do a lap around the PVGP both on Saturday & Sunday next July, in my Trail Blazer, as penance.

I had a 20 year old Plymouth Voyager mini-van with 240,000 kilometers that I still miss very much......I was the only owner of it as I bought it as a demonstrator from the Chrysler dealer..... it hit the 20 year old mark and as if like an alarm clock, everthing gave up the ghost at once, transmission, brakes, electrical system, fuel pump, main bearing oil seals, everything expensive to fix.Car salvager gave me 150 bucks for it........ but in the long run it was still not a bad vehicle for me. :-|

My favorite is the one that runs and is paid for.

I'm glad to have my 1997 Toyota RAV4 back from the shop. I stupidly let my kid drive it, and as usual, he broke it. But it didn't cost an arm and a leg to fix, fortunately.
My 2006 Tundra is also going strong. I'll drive it out to visit my brother and his '83 Toyota in a couple weeks.

Miata's are 4 bangers, usually a 1600 or 1800 cc motor. Rev happy and nice sounding. The "hummers" are mostly RX7's and 8's. Rotary engines. There were the RX-3's in the 70's. The terror of SCCA racing way back when, the Wankel rotary design sounded like a chain saw on steroids when hot rodded ... :)

And burned almost as much oil as they did gasoline. They were fast, though.
