Visible over most of the Continental US, Canada and Alaska, if the weather co-operates...

As the sun begins to sink down beneath the horizon Thursday evening, the moon will partially eclipse the fiery star and cast a narrow shadow upon the Earth.

It's the End of the World! The Mayans predicted this!

The Mayan ball game would make an interesting modern sport.

Roger Goodell would love it, no pesky concerns about concussions and lawsuits from former players.

As usual. Won't be visible in the NYC Metro area due to clouds and rayne. The partial blockage of the sun will just seem like cloudiness. Now maybe if someone can fly a quad copter through and above the clouds with a camera aimed towards the sun...

I tried that, but a big bird ate it.

Looks like I'm too far south to see much -- below the line of 20% shadow extent.

At 80% coverage, some Canadian observers will get a nice view of the eclipse. Their moon is going to look like a big round bacon, sizzling in front of the intense solar rays.

Rayne screws up everything.
