That was a block down the road from where I work. We watched it happen right after lunch...

"The body was so obese that the actual body fat came off and went straight up the sack and hit the roof material, the rubber roof we have up there and that's what made it go up like it did…It was no negligence involved in it. My guys, we did all we could. Once it started, the grease hit the roof and started the fire, the only thing we could do is dial 911 and get the fire department here,”

I'll bet that smell really made your lunch..... precious. >gag< >gag< >GAG<

Yep, the smell from that place can be pretty disgusting. Amazingly, a McDonald's is sitting on adjacent property. Needless to say, nobody here where I work eats at that McDonald's...

Glad my office is where it is. I'm downwind from the General Mills plant so most days if I open my window it smells like Cheerios or Lucky Charms in here.

I used to live about a block from the Sierra Nevada brewery. When the wind was blowing from the southeast, I could smell beer brewing.

I work about a half mile from one of the largest landfills in Cuyahoga County. Some times, the wind is just right...

I'm betting though with a neighbor like that, nobody will say a word if you put a tower up :)

"Now imagine living a half mile downwind from ZHQ."
Expensive French perfume (made at the IF&F plant in Middletown NJ, parent of L'Oréal) compared to this. Traveling through the farmland of Ohio on my way to Dayton 2000 my olfactory sensor was attacked by a preview to the 'fester, the stink could gag a maggot. The last thing EVER you'd want to smell is pig poop sprayed on fields on a warm sunny day!
