Naa, that's just a transducer/interface thang.

The medium(s) remain the same... modulation schemes all over the place.

, but it could also be a source of devastating misuse. Does it pave the way for humans to read the minds of others, even without their consent?

Rest assured. For every possible good use of such a technology, lawmakers, politicians, and businessmen will find several dozen ways to abuse it and misuse it. Just as they have always found a way to pervert every brilliant idea that has ever come into fruition.

The fact that most people these days are incapable of coherent thought, leads me to believe very few transmissions would be occurring.

On the driver section of the bandswitch. Kills predriver input with the band selector in the "Aux" (formerly, factory 11M) position.

This could open the door to 'enhanced intelligence' apps, where humans are linked to super search engine/database systems, like IBM's Watson.

They are more than welcome to but they better have a high threshold for very naughty thoughts. The only time that isn't happening is when I'm asleep or in a coma.
