Some nice rides, great tunes, and fond memories of days gone by.

I can't grow a lawn. I tried once and GOPHERS SWiSS Cheesed it making it impossible to mow. For the next decade I would have to cut it with a Weed Wacker until the iceplant finally overgrew it. We aren't allowed to have lawns here anyway. No water to water them with!

Ah, all those gasoline fumes were much more satisfying when they were leaded!

I could insert a 'WIK'-esque comment here and mention that I lived only a few hundred feet from Elvis at the time. He was a big presence in our Memphis neighborhood, but I was only a toddler at the time. My cousins knew Elvis better. They actually grew up in the neighborhood, and as teenagers, they worked at a local movie house where Elvis would sometimes show up, to rent the whole place out.

Three on the tree, just like in my '52 Dodge.

My '52 Chevy was the same way.

Actually, so was the '71 Ford pickup I learned to drive a stick in, although it had overdrive.

My '49 Ford had the same setup, and I wish I still had it. I don't know why, but I really liked the lines and especially the tail lights. Not to mention when I had to work on it, I could physically get inside the engine compartment if I need to. Lots of room.

My father had a '49 Ford coupe when I was a kid, first car I can remember riding in. It had that little flathead V-8 in it. I'd love to find one to restore.

I got mine from my grandparents in '64. They had bought it new, and it was in pristine condition, with very low miles. It was so roomy inside, you could hold a party in the back seat, which we did on many occasions.

Yeah, the Dodge was like that, all nice and plush inside too. I smoked a lot of dope in that car.

Neat car, my dad loved his and it really pained him when he had to trade it on on a yellow '57 Ford wagon in order to haul around me and my siblings.

I still like the lines of the Fords from the '50s. The one I had that was my favorite was a '55 Ford Crown Victoria. It had that stainless steel band over the roof. It was red and white, and had white vinyl seats, which were wicked in AZ in the summer. I sold it for $300, and now they go for thousands. Oh the ignorance of youth, but Who Gnu?

That's a very sweet ride!

On ignorance of youth, I remember selling my E-Type Jag for exactly what I paid for it—$4000. You know how much those things go for now?

Yes it was. Every once in a blue moon, I'll see one on the road, but I guess they are pretty rare.

They have been considered "special interest" cars since at least the late Sixties. I guess Ford never sold many of them.
