I just heard James Garner 86, died this weekend. What a wonderful actor he was. I grew up watching Maverick in the 50s and 60s. I always enjoyed just about everything he was in, from dramatic to comedy and series to movies.

RIP

Yup, and he was a decorated veteran as well as a long time supporter of the Democratic Party and Liberal causes. :sadwave:

There, I got political, and he'd appreciate that. :monkeydance:

Liked him in The Rockford Files and Maverick, but Grand Prix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Prix_%281966_film%29) and My Fellow Americans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Fellow_Americans) (with Jack Lemmon) were two great movies.

RIP

Perhaps the first Everyman hero (anti-hero?) on American TV. RIP, Jimmie.

RIPAlso Murphy's Romance, Space Cowboys, The Notebook. And of COURSE The Great Escape.

I have not seen every movie he's been in, but everything I've seen, he was fantastic.

RIP indeed, Bertie Boy. Err, Brett.

Didn't he also do a movie with Sally Fields? Yep. Everyone wanted to tear off some of that.
(that's a long running joke in Hollywood)

I know I did when she was in the TV show Gidget and I was barely old enough to understand what that entailed at the time.

en-tailed? I'm surprised you didn't have her fly into in your order instead of the Convent San Tanco.
