They offer almost no hard evidence to back up any of their claims. And the suggestion that a lean mixture doesn't raise cylinder combustion temps is total bullshit. I did enjoy seeing the little spacer plate with the propellers , that goes between the carb and manifold, that's supposed to give you better mileage. Did that come from RONCO?:snicker:

This is the same principal as an engine running on propane or natural gas which is also hard on an engine designed to run on the combustion of gasoline.... did like his reference to "hillbilly" .......says it all I suppose....:mrgreen:

I saw an episode of Mountain Men or something to that effect, and a couple of the guys built one using a 55 gallon drum for the burn chamber, and an air pump and a few other things from an old car, to get their old PU truck to run on it. I don't know if it was the real deal or not, but it did look like an interesting concept. Of course, everything was kluged together, but what would you expect from a couple of hermits in Canada, eh?

Nice thing is, if you run out of fuel, you can burn your underwear or something. Just take it off first.

ETA I think there are some cuts on YT and maybe the episode is available on History's website.

Sorry, Eddie, I was referring to the gasoline vapor thing, not the wood gas generator. I know those work—they were widely used in parts of Europe during WW ll.

Lots of petrol cars here run on LPG which costs a lot less as petrol, though the road tax is higher.
