A policeman wants to buy a vanity plate for his car. The BMV refused his request. The plate he ordered?

"OINK"

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles said it would file a notice of appeal Monday, asking the state Supreme Court to overrule a local judge who said the agency violated the officer's freedom of speech when it revoked his license plate that read "0INK."Drivers haven't been able to buy vanity plates in Indiana since July 2013, when Greenfield Police Officer Rodney Vawter sued the BMV, with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana...

BMV Commissioner Donald M. Snemis told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview that if the Indiana Supreme Court agrees to take up the issue, it may direct lawmakers to rewrite the law. This could lead to the removal of the right to have vanity plates for all Indiana drivers.

As of now, the Indiana BMV is not issuing vanity plates. The problem is probably that first "B" in BMV...

Plates should be binary with RF tracking.

Plates should be binary with RF tracking.

That would make for some mighty big plates. For instance, my plate number in binary ASCII code:

01001011 01001010 00110101 01000010 01010011 01001111

HEX then?
Frankly, this story reeks of Politics Gone Wild! People in different branches of government showing their junk for possible shock effect (as well as penis measurements and ball size) and proving that they as a collective are all boobs.

HEX then?

That works a little better:

No idea why Indiana called it the BMV instead of DMV but hey we are different over here. I think the cop will get his 0INK plate when all said and done.

I think they got it right despite that. B = Bureau? Bureau full of - bureaucrats. And we all know that bureaucrats have a stick up their ass.

Well, the reality is close to that... This is the same technology we use at work on the toll road.

I like our DMV. Took the motorcycle test on a crowded Friday afternoon and was in and out in 45 minutes, picture and all. The very next week I got tags and title transfer, paid sales tax and fees. Again, Friday afternoon, crowded, in and out in 25 minutes.

What needs to happen is a lot of these wacko licence plates (IN *** WE TRUST is a glaring example) to get recalled....don't they look like a marriage of church and state...

Greenville and the surrounding area, all a bunch of places all about the same size. Back when I was in high school, there was probably 2 in Greenville and one in each surrounding county. Then there was the fact that the people working there were all uniformed sheriffs. Back in the day.
