Bob posted many pictures and details on this forum about his wonderful home brew amplifiers, admired by many.

It always seems that the best of us are taken away far too soon. I loved reading Bob's stories of his amplifier designs and will greatly miss his presence in the amateur radio fraternity. Our consolations are that he had many friends and that he passed away peacefully. R.I.P. Bob, VK3ZL (SK).

Bob truly embodied the Amateur Radio spirit and the role of World Wide Ambassador better than most.
While I will miss him greatly I know he is no longer in pain and has been set free.

Bob was my idea of a true Amateur Radio Operator down to his parts scrounging, designing and building technique. I can't believe he left us so soon after his message on 6/15. I'm glad I got to talk to him one last time.

God Bless you Bob. Although we never met in person I will always remember you. I will miss your emails about your homeland and the interesting pics you sent me of some of the wildlife in rural Australia. And your great sense of humor. You will never be forgotten.

It saddens me to hear such news. Bob, a man that truly made the island a better place. Quite a loss to our little home land. If there is an afterlife I hope to be graced with your presences in the future. A part of you will live on in the memory of every person that you have ever reached out to and judging by your character on the island I would say that you will remain in the memory of many for years to come. Later as those seeds of knowledge, kindness and friendship that you bestowed upon us start to bloom and the current buds start to wither, new seeds will be planted. Truly a bright flame among mere sparks.

In the end, all I can say is, thank you Bob. It has been a pleasure to be acquainted with you, may you rest in peace.
