There ya go. I'm the same way. I love the scenery from the helicopter's HD camera. But I also love to watch the mountain stages when there are lots of attacks.

We had our holliday's over all of France for over 14 years middle east west south near the Spain border Lourdes, etc.
We drove around a lot in the 2/3 week holidays so I see many spots/castles/churches/cities we visited ourselves.

The Dutch bycicle team is quite good, but I like the mountain stages as well, I know how steep some are and how much power it costs on a bike to get up on one, let alone doing that multiple times.....
It is a beautifull country, good food, and nice people if you know some ( rudimentary) French language.
My ( ex) wife is fluent in French so no problem if I f**ked up...;)

Lots of history there, still have a gaggle of pictures from that time and some digital video tapes.

We drove around a lot in the 2/3 week holidays so I see many spots/castles/churches/cities we visited ourselves.

I've been able to travel there twice and loved the country and the people. I know enough French to be dangerous.

I'd love to go back and do some of those climbs before I get too old. We have some decent climbs here in GA (Cat 1, 2 and HC), but it'd be epic as a cyclist to be able to go up some of the climbs I've seen so many times while watching le Tour.
