Joey Chestnut is my hero. He won the Nathan's hot dog eating contest again with 61 in 10 minutes. I love Nathan's but but my all meat hot dog days are over. My wife gets me some @#$! called Bar S Turkey Franks. They are a dollar a pack, so she feeds them to me and the dogs. 50% turkey and 50% sawdust, almost no taste or fat or calories.

I'm not sure what a Smokie is. Would that be the Oscar Mayer Smokies? Me gramps was the last generation born north of the border. We ended up with Sabretts foot-longs with the casing. Expensive, but the 4th only comes once a year. :yes:

If I can find them, I'll give them a try.We were thinking of Kielbasa or Bratwurst for Bastille Day. ;)

Please don't eat those. Those are worse for you than regular (whatever) hot dogs. I'm totally sincere about this. The chemicals alone would jolt a dead Frankenstein back to life and kill him again in a minute. They're a dollar a pack for several reasons and they're all the the wrong ones.

I agree. Please don't. For the local selection, I have them ranked as follows:

1) Sabretts (preferably with casing)

2) Boar's Head

3) Nathan's - although they haven't been as good for the last few years and they stopped carrying them here.

LucyFurr will eat almost anything with meat in it. She won't touch those.
