Interesting little piece about how the Cleveland Browns (hard to believe, I know) were the innovators of the first RF equipped helmet for a Quarterback... in 1956.

Note in there that they had to get a CB call to legally operate (imagine that!) and that they also used FCC rules regarding interference to warn another team about attempting to jam the transmitter...

The transmitter was 5KW into a 20 element yagi.
