Seems like a neat concept. Especially for those who like camping or taking a day trip or something without having to hump a pile of gear up a mountain or spend $$$ on sailing to a registered island...(Our Island not withstanding...lol)

I can see combining a SOTA expedition with POTA as a lot of summits are in parks.

I joined the yahoo group but it was dead for the longest time. It seems to be gaining traction again, though. If I have time this summer, I do plan on trying out some HF using my FT817 in some local state parks.
