Im looking to aquire some coax about 30 ft or so and some wire (preferably about 12 gauge, im trying to make a discrete atenna) about 85 ft worth. I don't really have the money to purchess retail because my son is due any minute now and times are tough. I can make really good cookies! I'm kidding (but i will send you cookies) but i was hoping to work out some sort of deal whatever it may be.

At 30' you can do the skinny coax and be OK. Just make sure it has good ends.
As for the radiator part of the antenna. Try to scavenge some CAT5. I see that stuff everywhere these days as people are discarding it left and right.

You can usually find CATV coax in the garbage. You'll need new ends.

As for the wire for the antenna: Any wire will do. Even lamp wire, speaker wire, etc etc. If it conducts, it'll work.

Until you get more material, try this antenna (It works great, BTW. I made one 5 years ago, and still use it): http://www.hamuniverse.com/2metergp.html

It'll cost you $3 for the SO239 connector.

"They" say, "Life is too short for QRP...
but in reality, it's often too short an antenna.
With a bit more material, you can homebrew a vertical
that can effectively quadruple your radiated power.

And especially on 2 meters, the importance of low loss cable
cannot be stressed too much. Thirty feet of "skinny" RG-174
can soak up over half your power. Cable companies buy large spools
of lower loss cable, and often discard short lengths. It's 75 ohm
(instead of 50) but "close enough for government work." ;)

I can send you some coax, and some solid copper wire for the radials if you are going to build the 1/4 wave antenna using your coax connector. Where do you want it sent?
