Does this mean that there will be more American Christian programming on the SW bands?
I could certainly use 2822 acres and something to mount antennas on.

I like to see the BBC buy it, and use it for a BCB repeater site.

160 towers? Have fun maintaining that.

Can you imagine the amount of time required to run all the radials taking readings for a proof?

Could you imagine all the riding lawnmower blades you would go through trying to avoid all those guy wire anchor points?

Don't even want to think about it.

Jeez, just what we need. More Family Radio and WHRI. Yaaaaayy...... :sadgoodbye:

Of course, what would be really cool is if we could give religious broadcasters these sites and let them transmit all over the SW bands in exchange for giving up their 4,685,983 translator/satellators on the FM band. Now THAT would be the fuckin' deal of the century.

You don't need to mount antennas, with what's there you can work the world QRP! You don't need radials either, all of the antennas are balanced, fed with open wire line on a scale you'd mistake them for high voltage power lines.

I got a laugh out of this one:
"While back home, I live in fear of lightening harming my shack, it occurred to me that here, perhaps the lightening is afraid of the antennas."
That reminds me of a comment I occasionally make about myself. From all the shocks I received over the years and one time getting hit by a flash-over from a lightning strike, I've absorbed enough electrons to qualify as a cation and lightning is afraid of ME.

Careful, whatever you don't touch the fence!

they've been shutting down SW broadcasting ... they do understand that not everyone can use the iPlayer to listen to bbc 4, however.

There's only one kind of money, we just need more of it!
