the battery in my Yaesu VX-7R is long in the tooth and I need to replace it. I already know that buying through ebay is a crapshoot--don't want a cheap crap battery from some random to screw up my radio ... but would also prefer not to pay heaps for a replacement battery. clues?

Another option I've used, sometimes less expensive than batteriesamerica.com:

I have ordered from them for my late 80's Kenwood TH-215a and a couple other obscure batteries and they seem to work quite well.

thanks, everyone. batteries america was what i was looking for ... i'll stick these other places on my bookmark list too (because obscure batteries are obscure!)
